Juicing extracts the juice from fresh fruits or vegetables. The resulting liquid contains most of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals (phytonutrients) found in the whole fruit. Juicing can be one way to increase your nutrient intake, and incorporate a variety of fruits and vegetables that you may not normally eat, such as kale or spinach, however you should not rely on juice as your sole source of fruit or vegetable intake. Most Americans need to reduce their intake of added sugars.

The nutrients in the ready-to-drink juices, on the other hand, are not even close to the quantity or quality of those in home-produced juices made from whole fruits and vegetables, as the nutrients in store-bought are pasteurized.

Juicing helps in the preservation of the natural vitamins, minerals and enzymes of the raw juice. It’s also a nice way for people who do not like fruits and veggies to get their suggested six to eight servings per day.

Helpful Tips to Remember

During any type of cleanse, remember that your goal is to support your detoxification processes while helping your body maintain a healthy balance of nutrients. Your daily diet should provide support for your organs of elimination as well as overall nourishment for your body, which is why choosing the right foods while cleansing is also important. Below are some quick tips to help you get started:

  • Eat plenty of “living foods” such as raw, organic fruits and veggies (veggies may also be lightly steamed)

  • Consume essential fatty acids such as the beneficial Omega-3 fats found in oily fish and certain nuts and seeds.

  • Drink plenty of purified water to help to flush unwanted toxins and waste from the body. A good rule of thumb is to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of purified water every day.

  • Try to limit your consumption of sugar (both table sugar and hidden refined sugars) and starchy carbohydrates, which may feed unhealthy microbes in the gut.

There is no right or wrong answer. It all depends on your personal situation, and we know everyone’s situation is independently different on how often you do a juice cleanse:

  • At a minimum, it is beneficial to cleanse once every three months (Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter)

  • Once a month to keep your gut & liver health on track.

  • Once a week (3-5 days) for a month or longer for more serious health and weight loss goals.

  • The ultimate juice cleanse: every day for 2+ weeks. Yes, this is healthy as long as you are getting enough variety. You can supplement our juices with raw fruits and vegetables or protein smoothies.

Juicing extracts the liquid portion of vital plants and easily maximizes the nutrients we take into our bodies. Nothing is more nutritious and absorbable than fresh juice. The enzymes in juice digest our food and turn it into fuel - all while removing harmful toxins and increasing immunity to sickness and disease. Juice quickly reaches your vital organs, resets your body, re-oxygenates your blood, flushes out fat, neutralizes the unhealthy, disease-promoting acidic state caused by the typical American diet, and helps you take control of your health and well-being.
